The projection of light and its Enlightenments are embedded in the violent imperial gestures of framing, grasping, comprehending, revealing, discovering and possessing.&nbsp;At the Westernmost tip of continental Europe, the lighthouse keeper, born of the war, inhabits that space between the dark zone and illumination. Instead, we soon became ourselves the learners and the first lesson was how to walk. If you walk straight, placing your heels on the ground first, you promptly slip and fall in the dams of the flooded mangrove rice field or you get stuck in the mangrove mud. You need to lower your body, flex your knees and stick your toes vertically into the mud, extend your arms forwards in a conscious and present movement. In the mangrove school the learning happens with the whole body.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Filipa C\u00e9sar<\/strong> \u00e9 artista e realizadora. Interessa-se pelos aspectos ficcionais do document\u00e1rio, nas fronteiras porosas entre o cinema e a sua recep\u00e7\u00e3o e pelas pol\u00edticas e po\u00e9ticas inerentes da imagem em movimento. Desde 2011, investiga o cinema militante dos Movimentos de Liberta\u00e7\u00e3o Africana na Guin\u00e9 Bissau como um laborat\u00f3rio de potencial resist\u00eancia \u00e0s epistemologias colonias atuais. O corpo de trabalho da\u00ed resultante compreende filmes, arquivos digitais, instala\u00e7\u00f5es, semin\u00e1rios, publica\u00e7\u00f5es e colabora\u00e7\u00f5es cont\u00ednuas com artistas, te\u00f3ricos e ativistas, em particular com Diana McCarty, Marinho de Pina, Olivier Marboeuf e Sana na N\u2019Hada. Participou nos projetos de pesquisa Living Archive (2011-13) e Visionary Archive (2013-15) ambos organizados pelo Arsenal &#8211; Institut for Film and Video Art, Berlim e atualmente colabora no programa quadrienal &#8220;The New Alphabet&#8221; iniciado pela Haus der Kulturen der Welt em 2019. C\u00e9sar estreou a sua primeira longa-metragem ensaio-filme Spell Reel na se\u00e7\u00e3o Forum da 67. Berlinale, \u00e9 co-autora do filme Escola do Mangue estreado em 2022 no Festival Cin\u00e9ma Du R\u00e9el em Paris.
