She will show her works &#8220;not me not you&#8220;2024-2025 ongoing, &#8220;Where I left you&#8221; 2023, &#8220;When we leave&#8220; 2018-2025 ongoing. These works contextualize photography as a tool to show the inner conflicts and states by using the subject of self-portraits and essayistic, auto-fictional story telling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'; color: black;\">These issues always follow the question of identity: Who are we? Who do we want to be? After studying photography at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, with an interim study visit to Lisbon, she enrolled at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts (HGB) in 2017. There she studied in the class of Prof. Tina Bara and received her diploma in 2021. In 2023, she completed her Meisterschu\u0308lerinnen degree, also at the HGB. In 2020, Cihan \u00c7akmak received the Paula Modersohn-Becker Newcomer Award in Worpswede, and in 2023 the ein-blicke Award at the blicke film festival in Bochum.
